This series consists of reports filed by the forest fire control unit detailing efforts to control forest fires in Ala. Much of the material was created in accordance with federal law (Clarke-McNary Act, sec. 2), which provided federal funds to the states to combat forest fires. Many reports are on preprinted forms which were issued by the federal government. Included in the reports are projected fire fighting equipment needs, maps showing the locations of fire control centers in the state, and other information assessing Ala.'s financial needs in forest fire control. In 1971 the Dept. of Conservation was renamed the Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources.
